Ian Fairweather
Went to Design School in London, England and after graduating worked for JM Design Consultants, designing high end stores and boutiques in London's West End. Ian then joined Murdoch Design Associates and was primarily involved in the hi-tech redesign of Terminal 2 at Heathrow Airport, London.

Moving to Manhattan, Ian worked at HLW, a multi disciplined Architectural and Engineering Corp. where he was solely responsible for designing and managing the Interiors of the new 250,000 sq. ft. Corporate World Headquarters of Schering Plough Pharmaceutical Corp. in Madison, New Jersey.

It was at HLW where Ian & Rob Brown first met, and after each completing 3 year projects, in 1984 decided to form their own company and move out to Eastern Long Island and do what they really wanted to do, Design beautiful Homes that are contextually appropriate for the North Fork and Shelter Island. Ian's part of the firm is Fairweather Design Associates, Inc. and is still in the Village at 205 Bay Avenue.

Ian could always draw wonderfully and did so thoughout his life, but it wasn't until the early 80's that he began to paint, first pen & ink drawings with watercolor washes, then watercolors and currently in oils on paper or board. His recent oils are evocative of our North Fork shorelines, and have an old-world quality to them. His original oil paintings and limited edition prints of his watercolors are sold exclusively at Winter Harbor Gallery.
